Our Mission

Our Mission
Global climate change and the ecological crisis are the greatest challenges of our time, and can only be effectively addressed if we succeed in creating a new type of dialogue. We must confront the fact that achieving meaningful change within the current economic and social systems is difficult. However, symptom management alone is not enough – fundamental shifts in perspective and action are needed. Our mission is not to encourage choosing sides in opposing views but to foster dialogue between them.
We acknowledge that radical changes are hard to implement and often face resistance. Our mission is to create a platform where complex questions related to climate change and the ecological crisis can be discussed, where different approaches can meet, and where we can work together on practical solutions for a more livable future.
A New Culture of Dialogue
Global climate change and the ecological crisis are the greatest challenges of our time and can only be effectively addressed by creating a new kind of dialogue. We are establishing a forum where:
- Different perspectives complement rather than oppose each other.
- Complex problems are approached with a holistic mindset.
- Scientific accuracy meets accessibility.
- Participants engage with respect and openness toward one another.
The Need for Systemic Change
We must face the fact that meaningful change is hard to achieve within the framework of current economic and social systems. Nevertheless, symptom management is insufficient – fundamental shifts in perspective and systemic change are necessary:
- To reconcile the contradictions between economic growth and environmental sustainability.
- To harmonize human activity with natural systems.
- To redefine the balance between community interest and individual responsibility.
Bridging Divergent Views
Our mission is not to encourage choosing between conflicting viewpoints but to promote dialogue among them. These might include, but are not limited to:
- Followers of Deep Adaptation,
- Supporters of the Small Community Program,
- Advocates of technological breakthroughs, or
- Proponents of degrowth or other ecological approaches.
We believe these perspectives do not exclude but can complement each other in a constructive dialogue.
A Practical Approach
We aim not to generate abstract or l’art pour l’art debates but to seek real solutions:
- Connecting theoretical knowledge with practical experiences.
- Supporting local initiatives as well as systemic changes.
- Facilitating the sharing and adaptation of best practices.
- Encouraging the development of innovative solutions.
The Culture of Change
We understand that radical changes are difficult and often face resistance. Therefore:
- We build on gradual but determined steps.
- We consider the role of human nature and societal habits in the success of change.
- We support the sharing of positive examples and successes but believe we must also learn from failures.
- We help communities develop their adaptability.
Our mission is to create a platform where complex issues related to climate change and the ecological crisis can be discussed, where different approaches can meet, and where we can collaboratively work on practical solutions for a more sustainable and livable future.
